VPI 610 PU Injection Resin (new in 2008) PATENT PENDING
VPI 610 is a highly flexible, one component, solvent free, polyurethane injection resin suitable for water cut-off in wet dynamic cracks and joints. Reaction with water yields a very flexible, but tough foam. Inject with a single-component pump. It incorporates Margel at 5% by volume.
610 utilises a specially formulated blend of chemicals that provide excellent anti-corrosion properties to protect structures from corrosion. It is currently patent pending in the UK.
The product can be pumped into cracks, open fissures and voids in concrete and masonry structures, making an excellent cavity sealer. Where it meets with water, either through pre-injection or through flowing ingress, it rapidly expands forming a solid (cured) rubber like product in under 60 seconds. The product exhibits very good adhesion to various substrates. The greater the volume of water, the faster it sets. It can even be pumped into holes that have flowing water and will still cure and seal, although it is not specifically formulated to stop fast flowing or water under undue pressure.
This will eliminate water flow through structures such as tunnels, footings and pilings, once cured, the embedded VPI will readily travel through the structure, coating steel and reducing corrosion in the same way as our other Margel VPI products.
Product Ships as (20L Resin, 2L Activator & 1Kg Inhibitor) producing upto 330L by volume
This product will expand upto 15 times its initial volume, catalyzed by water. It cures to a dense rubber like state containing approximately 5% by volume of VPI Corrosion Inhibitor distributed evenly.
TESTING (to prove VPI embedded within cured foam structure)
Below is the a picture showing one jar with 610 product (left) and the other without, to demonstrate the VPI being given off both below and above water. The pictures are taken after 5 days.
